Tink

Trinity Home, better known as Tink, quickly became one of Chicago’s most talked about new artists with her re-invented sound and powerful lyricism. Growing up in Calumet City, a south suburb outside of Chicago, Illinois, she started singing at the age of seven in church. With her mom being a gospel singer and her dad a music engineer, Tink was destined to be a star. While singing comes naturally, Tink’s rhyme skills are a force to be reckoned with.

Tink released three mixtapes in 2012 that were all excellent, Winter’s Diary, Alter Ego, and Blunts and Ballads. They were followed-up by 2013’s Boss Up and 2014’s Winter’s Diary 2 which was one of the most impactful mixtapes of that year.  Featured artist included Rockie Diamonds and Chicago’s own Lil Herb.

Tink’s voice channels the early 90’s era of music, but is reminiscent of former Roc-A-Fella rapper, Amil. As a rapper and a singer, Tink is one of the most versatile artists of today. Her lyrics are powerful and so is her sound. There is no one in the music industry doing what she is doing, or doing it better. One song that was really a hit with fans was ”Treat Me Like Somebody,” which quickly began to spread and became a Chicago’s Anthem, making her a household name in the region.

As the buzz began to increase Tink caught the attention of critically-acclaimed Chicago producers Kosine and Tuo’ (also known as Da Internz). They immediately brought her into the studio and came out with the hit “Don’t Tell Nobody” featuring Jeremih, also a native of Chicago. “Don’t Tell Nobody” secured the #12 spot on Complex’s Best Songs of 2014.  This battle of the sexes anthem became so big that it eventually fell into the lap of Timbaland, who then signed Tink and promoted her as his Next Big Artist. What may come as a surprise to most readers is how Timbaland explains how Tink reinvented him as an overall artist as well. He speaks about her with such admiration and excitement that it definitely piques your interest enough want to check out this fresh MC/RnB songstress.  Tink’s raw lyrics with semi-soft delivery is very easy on the ears.  Timbaland is quoted as saying,”Tink’s album is the best album since One in A Million(by Aaliyah)”and “Don’t congratulate me, congratulate culture.”
